My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Goldy! This Dudley Labrador is 6 years old and weighs 74 lbs. Goldy is a champion cuddler and and could win a medal when it comes to loving his people.

  • General Behavior: Goldy is a sweet, snuggly boy. He adores people and hates being left out of any fun or human activities.

  • Likes & Dislikes:  Goldy loves balls and chew toys, but best of all, he loves his people and wants to be near them all the time.

  • Training: Goldy is a smart cookie! He is housetrained if let out regularly and is a well-behaved passenger in the car. He can walk on a leash, but is strong and does still occasionally pull at the leash. He also needs to learn how to channel his unhappiness when his people are not around.

  • Medical: Goldy is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm medications, like any dog.

  • Other Animals: Goldy is good with other big, playful dogs. He’s even good with cats!

  • Children: Gentle Goldy is good with children of all ages. He adores the boys in his foster home: he sleeps in bed with them or downstairs on the couch.

  • Home: Goldy needs a single-family home with a securely fenced yard and at least one person who is around most of the time.

  • Grooming: As a Dudley Labrador, Goldy will shed, so he will need regular brushing and baths.

  • Overall: Goldy will make a wonderful companion for an active family who can give him the attention and love he needs so much.

Has Goldy won your heart? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered, and he has just had his teeth cleaned. His adoption donation is $350.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
