My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yaya is a total sweetheart wrapped up in a beautiful honey-colored coat! This toy poodle is all about cuddles and belly rubs, and she gets along fabulously with everyone-dogs, kids, and even cats! She's a nature lover at heart, thriving on trail walks and swims in the river, so keep a close eye on her water-loving spirit. Long car rides? No problem-Yaya's your perfect road trip buddy, snoozing the miles away or enjoying the sights with a wagging tail.

At home, Yaya's perfectly happy sleeping in her bed or crate, as long as the door stays open-she just needs to know where you are to feel safe. While she's still learning to go potty during walks, she's doing great with potty pads and picking up new commands quickly! Just a heads-up: she's a little protective of her food and will give a gentle growl if another dog gets too close during mealtime, but other than that, she's as friendly and trusting as can be.

Loud noises or overly aggressive touches might spook her, and she prefers gentle hands, especially from kids, but she doesn't have an ounce of aggression. Yaya has made fast friends with cats, dogs, and even a 4-year-old, proving she's as resilient and loving as they come. This fun, chill companion is ready to be your adventure buddy by day and cuddle bug by night!

* Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
