Meet Kapri, the shy sweetheart who shines during playtime!

At just 1.5 years old, this lab pittie mix is ready for a fresh start and a loving family to call her own. Kapri truly comes alive in a family setting, where she's friendly with dogs and older kids alike.

With her playful energy and habit for silly zoomies, Kapri brings endless silliness to any home. Because of her petite size, she's gentle when giving her love, and once she gets to know you, she'll shower you with all she's got!

While Kapri may feel unsure or shy at first, all it takes is some loving vibes and words of encouragement to help her come out of her shell. With her ability to share, playful personality, and love of people, Kapri is destined to be an excellent family dog.

Individuals wishing to adopt an animal from our shelter must complete an adoption application and provide proof of home ownership or, if you are a renter, you must provide a copy of your lease or a notarized letter from your landlord stating pets are permitted. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt any animal from our shelter. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption. In some instances, a home visit may be required. Our fees vary depending on the age and breed of the animal. Typically, a mix breed is $110.00 and a purebreed is $150.00 and up. There is also an altering charge of $85.00 for a male and $95.00 for a female. All animals receive vaccines, microchip identification, frontline treatments.

We are opened 7 days a week between the hours of 12:00-5:00pm for adoptions. No appt is necessary and we welcome prospective adopters to bring their current pet for a meet and greet with one of our orphans.

The Newark Branch of the Associated Humane Societies provides the following services including animal control, animal surrenders & adoptions, cruelty investigations, educational outreach & low cost spay/neuter services in our stationary clinic, as well as our Mobile Spay/Neuter Unit.
