She's got that day dream look in her eye!

Kali never goes out of style! 3 year old Kali is quite the sweet heart! She's beaming from ear to ear even after her time in the shelter! That's just who she is, happy personality and friendly demeanor!

Kali has met other dogs at the shelter and done well- we think she has great potential to be a dog companion! She's about 45lbs, walks well on the leash and even knows her own name! Sturdy/older kids are a great choice for Kali, who is super friendly and so friendly with everyone she meets! Kali shares her toys, food and bone- is crate trained and sits on command!

Individuals wishing to adopt an animal from our shelter must complete an adoption application and provide proof of home ownership or, if you are a renter, you must provide a copy of your lease or a notarized letter from your landlord stating pets are permitted. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt any animal from our shelter. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption. In some instances, a home visit may be required. Our fees vary depending on the age and breed of the animal. Typically, a mix breed is $110.00 and a purebreed is $150.00 and up. There is also an altering charge of $85.00 for a male and $95.00 for a female. All animals receive vaccines, microchip identification, frontline treatments.

We are opened 7 days a week between the hours of 12:00-5:00pm for adoptions. No appt is necessary and we welcome prospective adopters to bring their current pet for a meet and greet with one of our orphans.

The Newark Branch of the Associated Humane Societies provides the following services including animal control, animal surrenders & adoptions, cruelty investigations, educational outreach & low cost spay/neuter services in our stationary clinic, as well as our Mobile Spay/Neuter Unit.
