This unique beauty is Freckle!

Freckle is a 1 year old girl who loves the outdoors! This shy little love enjoys feeling the sun on her cheeks and the wind in her ears! She's as sweet as can be, and once she warms up can't wait to be your best friend.

Freckle was found as a lost dog. This baby needs a loving, caring place to call home! Freckle is little, only about 45lbs and has lots of love to give! She was found with another dog, so an another canine friend may be in her future? We're still getting to know Freckle but come 'round to the shelter to get to know her with us! Individuals wishing to adopt an animal from our shelter must complete an adoption application and provide proof of home ownership or, if you are a renter, you must provide a copy of your lease or a notarized letter from your landlord stating pets are permitted. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt any animal from our shelter. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption. In some instances, a home visit may be required. Our fees vary depending on the age and breed of the animal. Typically, a mix breed is $110.00 and a purebreed is $150.00 and up. There is also an altering charge of $85.00 for a male and $95.00 for a female. All animals receive vaccines, microchip identification, frontline treatments.

Go meet their pets

We are opened 7 days a week between the hours of 12:00-5:00pm for adoptions. No appt is necessary and we welcome prospective adopters to bring their current pet for a meet and greet with one of our orphans.

The Newark Branch of the Associated Humane Societies provides the following services including animal control, animal surrenders & adoptions, cruelty investigations, educational outreach & low cost spay/neuter services in our stationary clinic, as well as our Mobile Spay/Neuter Unit.
