My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Neeka. She joined our rescue after her owner fell on hard times and could no longer care for her. Neeka is a 12 year old, 18 lb female and believed to be a Bichon Frise, possibly purebred or mixed with toy poodle. She is a sweet, happy and friendly dog. She’ll make a great companion for someone who can give her the attention she deserves.

Neeka is smart, playful and despite her age, quite energetic and feisty. Her favorite game is keep away or wrestling with her dog bed. She is house-trained, crate-trained and loves to go on walks or car rides. She’s what they call a “velcro” dog because she likes to be near you at all times. She especially loves to cuddle and curl up with her humans to watch TV and get belly rubs. She gets along well with other dogs, large and small, but she’s a bit of a princess and likes to let even the big dogs know exactly who’s in charge. Her double layer, curly coat is considered hypo-allergenic and needs to be groomed on a regular basis. Neeka has a lot of personality and a lot of love to give.

Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Neeka is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to visit her will be set up for approved adopters only. Adoption fee is $125, which includes all appropriate vaccines. She is spayed, microchipped and heartworm negative. She has also been kept on both flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
