My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"A house is not a home without a dog". And do we have a great one for you! Big Boy is 18 months old and weighs 82 pounds.

Why we love Big Boy: He is such a gentle, good natured dog who is the best company!

Big Boy is a big dog with an even bigger heart! He has quickly become a favorite of the staff and volunteers! Big Boy is so sweet and congenial! He adores children, too.

Big Boy is very strong and is an enthusiastic companion on daily walks. We use a Good Dog Collar for his walks and this, along with a firm hand, works very well. He will go for as long as you want to help you get your daily exercise! Big Boy would be a fine hiking or running buddy, too. He also enjoys outings in the fenced yard, where he loves to play.

Most of all, Big Boy wants to be your favorite cuddle buddy and is so affectionate! He will gaze at you adoringly and savors being petted and loved on. Big Boy enjoys sitting by your side to hang out and enjoy the day. We love spending time with this special dog!

Big Boy has had such fun in play groups with his fellow shelter companions. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility.

Big Boy wants to please and should master any commands you wish to teach him.

He will be a devoted and loyal family companion! Big Boy is such a precious and loving dog!

More about this shelter

Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!

All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
