My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"A house is not a home without a dog". And do we have a great one for you! Big Boy is 18 months old and weighs 82 pounds.

Why we love Big Boy: He is such a gentle, good natured dog who is the best company! This dear dog is truly magnificent, regal, majestic and has such presence!

Big Boy is a big dog with an even bigger heart! He quickly became a favorite of the staff and volunteers! Big Boy is so sweet and congenial! He adores children, too.

Big Boy is very strong and is an enthusiastic companion on daily walks. We use a Good Dog Collar for his walks and this works very well. works He will go for as long as you want to help you get your daily exercise! Big Boy would be a fine hiking or running buddy, too. He also enjoys outings in the fenced yard, where he loves to play.

Most of all, Big Boy wants to be your favorite cuddle buddy and is so affectionate! He will gaze at you adoringly and savors being petted and loved on. Big Boy enjoys sitting by your side to hang out and enjoy the day. He will put his paws on your lap and give you a look of total love that is absolutely irresistible! Big Boy also gives the best doggie hugs! We love spending time with this awesome dog!

One of our dedicated volunteers observes: "Big Boy is an absolute joy to be around. I love our time in the fenced yard and he truly makes a good day even better!"

Big Boy has had such fun in play groups with his fellow shelter companions. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility.

Big Boy is a bright dog who wants to please and should master any commands you wish to teach him. He has learned to sit for the reward of a treat.

He will be a devoted and loyal family companion! Big Boy is truly a precious and loving dog!

More about this shelter

Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!

All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
