Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Bo is currently available to meet you in person at Best Friends New York Soho Lifesaving Center located at 307 West Broadway, near Canal Street. The Lifesaving Center is open to visitors 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, 7 days a week (with last adoptions done at 6:30 pm).
We recommend coming in as soon as possible to meet her as we adopt on a first-come, first-served basis and do not hold or reserve animals.
Introducing Bo!
This 2-year-old mixed breed male dog has a black and white coat and a heart full of eagerness to please. Bo is friendly, social, and ready to bring joy to his new family. He is a very affectionate pup who will be a great companion. He loves to play and to be pet and is very loving. Bo will benefit from additional training and consistent direction in walking on a leash, he can get overly excited and does zig-zag when walking, but overall he is very good. He is easily over stimulated and can get mouthy, and he is working on this behavior. He is sweet and playful and he does well with toys that help direct his energy like chew toys and puzzles. Bo loves to be pet, especially on his head and neck. He is great company and always wants to be near his person.
His fosters say he doing great. "Initially he was very shy but eventually he's warmed up to us and is excited for his walks and pets and he's really settled in to his routine " They describe him as a sweet and gentle love bug who loves walks and head rubs. He is doing well with interactions "He's done great with our cats they just give each other a little sniff and are on their separate ways, Bo seems like he wants to play with them but gives them their space ...he's seen my dog, but we don't let them play together on account of the fact that she is really high energy.... " . Bo is well trained, "He's perfect in his crate he doesn't whine or anything...he is potty trained hasn't had a single accident in the house ...he's a but of a puller but it can be worked on".
Bo is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed to ensure he's ready for his new home.
Bo is currently being treated for Heartworm, a non-contagious, preventable and treatable condition. Should you choose to adopt this sweet boy, Best Friends Animal Society will cover the cost of the heartworm treatment and associated medications free of charge.
