Ciao, my name is Geno. I am a Boston Terrier/Frenchie mix. I played it cool when I first met my foster mom, then I melted like gelato on a hot day when she gave me a cuddle and scratches behind the ears. I tend to be a bit shy and a little unsure in new situations. As I become familiar with my surroundings I come out of my shell and feel at home. I am potty trained but I may need a little help adjusting in a new environment. At times I may suffer a little separation anxiety. To help with my anxiety my foster mom gives me a treat (Kong with
peanut butter) or toy to take my mind off of being alone. Don't be worried, she only gives me toys that are
safe to have when I am alone.
My foster mom calls me the Italian Stallion. Not quite sure why but I think its because I am a handsome dude. I am 7 years old with a bit of gray going on but don't let that fool you! I have plenty of energy to go on car rides, walks and of course to play fetch. Did I mention I love to play fetch. I am the energizer bunny when it comes to playing fetch. I keep going and going and going until I wear my human out. After a great game of
fetch I am ready to chill and maybe take a little snooze. I love food and look forward to my chow! I am not food aggressive but I will help my fellow siblings finish their meals if given the chance. A few of my favorite snacks are zucchini, cucumbers, broccoli, blueberries, and strawberries. Due to some skin issues I will need to be fed a special diet free of grain, chicken, beef, and fish. I do well on insect protein, duck, and rabbit. I do take something to help with allergies for my skin and eyes. At night before bed, I roll over on my back and she rubs my belly with cream to help with my dry skin. My foster mom says I am a star at taking my meds.
When it is time to wind down for the day I enjoy lounging with my family before heading to my bed. I love it when my foster mom tucks me in with a soft blanket, a kiss, and a buona notte! My foster mom is taking good care of me while I am waiting patiently for my forever home.

Additional adoption info
Adoption fees are based on the breed, health, age, and behavioral status of each dog. All dogs are microchipped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, flea/worm treated and have had a wellness exam before becoming adoptable. If you are interested in adopting a BHNW dog, please fill out the online application. If you are matched to the dog you are interested in or another dog in our program, you will be contacted by the foster family. Prior to adopting, there is a mandatory home evaluation to ensure your home and family are ready for that dog. We require a contract for all adoptions and there is a two-week trial to ensure a good match. If for any reason you can no longer care for the dog you adopted from us, that dog must be returned to our program.
