My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Jenkins! I was born approx. 12/15/23 and I am a ~ 50 lbs lab. I came into foster care with my two brothers who have already found forever homes so it’s just me now. I am living with my foster family who already have two rescue dogs and two rescue cats. I get along great with my foster brother and foster sister, even though she can be very bossy at times. I am not aggressive with the cats, but I am very curious about them. I know my name and come when called, unless there is something more interesting. I go up and down stairs, but I can be a little clumsy. I am house broken for the most part. I will occasionally have an accident if I’m not let out at my scheduled times, so I go on the rug in the human bathroom or the rug at the door to go outside. I walk on a leash and ride in a car for a long time with no problems. I sleep on the couch by myself all through the night. I like to play with toys and because I’m a lab - I can’t help but chew on things, sometimes things I’m not supposed to chew on. I am also very vocal so I can carry on a conversation with you and express myself with lots of grunts and groans.  I don’t like being penned up though, so I am super skilled at escaping. I wasn’t around people much for the first six months of my life, so I am shy around people to start with, but we can be friends once I know I can trust you. I get excited to meet people but will orbit around you just outside of your reach until I feel it’s safe for you to pet me. I really like kids and I have not been aggressive with anyone. Even though I really like my foster family, especially my dad, I think I would be a great addition to your family.
