In foster in western, WA
Riser is 1 of 9 puppies that were saved from a typical high kill TX shelter, when they received the pups. DOB 4/20/2024. We expect him to get to be 35-50#s when grown. He is a gorgeous puppy with the most beautiful “blue” color which is common with a Weimaraner. Most of the litter resembles Weimaraner with tall, lanky legs and their long nose. Riser is a very happy pup and does fantastic with every dog he meets. However with one very large dog he was resource guarding his toys? We dont know about cats? Likely at this age could be trained. Because he was not socialized enough with humans as a younger pup before coming to rescue, he needs lots of TLC and human socialization. . He loves to play with other dogs and pups . Eventually he will be believe he will be great, just will take some time and patience/understanding . He needs an experienced adopter for training or someone willing/able to have a one on one with a good trainer. Hence, the low adoption fee. He did fine with all dogs in rescue but one large dog he was resource guarding. Hence, we believe at this time he should not be with large dogs with any toys, but we are uncertain. Very possibly with training he wont resource guard his toys with a large dog?
Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention.

Adoption Fees
The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. We have a super low fee on Riser due to him needing more human socialization.
All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog.
HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters.
