Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Lovie, the Maine Coon!
He’s a sweet boy who showed up at the door of his rescuers a few months ago. Summit Dog Rescue is stepping in to help them find a great forever home for this wonderful kitty.
Lovie would thrive in a loving home with someone who will adore him to pieces — easy to do with this affectionate fluffball! He’s been living outside but desperately wants to be inside. He’ll need to be an indoor kitty with ideally a catio.
Lovie is very sweet, loves attention, and is a purr machine when his rescuers pet him. He’s very talkative and runs to greet them when they’re outside or coming home.
He’s a big boy at approximately 15 lb. — so they’re pretty sure he’s a Maine Coon with his giant, precious paws. He’s fine with getting picked up and will show his belly sometimes. When he gets overstimulated he’ll gently let you know in kitty language — like a gentle bapping with his adorable Hobbit paws!
He’s an excellent snuggle buddy with people, and will snuggle and follow you room to room and be your best pal ever. Stray cats who come near the house are a different story — but he’s nonreactive when he sees his rescuers’ kitties through the window. We’re considering him untested with cats for now, and ideally he’d go to a home with no other kitties.
We’re not sure how he is with little kids or dogs.
He’s fully vetted, neutered, FIV/FELV negative, and up to date on his kitty vaccinations.
Lovie causes the resident kitty to get upset when she sees him through the window, so his rescuers can’t formally adopt this sweet boy, much as they’d like to.
For more info and/or to apply to adopt Lovie, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment, and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.
