Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
More About Luke
Luke is possibly a chocolate lab/husky mix that found himself pound bound due to a personal family situation. Thanks to a dedicated animal rescuer, this was prevented and he was brought to us instead.
This dog is stunning, inside and out. His beautiful green eyes with the red two tone coat is a great combination. He is so very sweet and loyal. He thinks his foster mom belongs to him. There will be no shortage of kisses in any house he joins as part of the family. We think he would prefer to be the only dog and get all of the attention.
He is three (3) years old, having been born in the spring of 2007 (April or May).
He is good with cats, ignores the one at the foster moms. He is used to being around young children and other dogs. He is also housebroken and was accustomed to invisible fencing.
Luke is a perfect size dog, not to large, not too small. He thinks he is a "lap dog" and will nestle up in your lap. He weighs 52# and is not expected to get any larger.
Did someone say "fetch"? Luke loves to fetch and run after a ball or toy when you throw it. He will bring it back and "drop it" if you ask him to, or else tease you with it wanting you to chase him.
Luke knows "sit and "lay down" but will generally do it only for a treat or food. He is crate trained.
He is a very friendly dog. Without notice, he gently reared up on his hind legs and gave me plenty of kisses, out of the blue.
Luke will be heartworm tested, examined by our veterinarian, prescribed Drontal to ensure he is free of common parasites such as hook, whip, round and tape worms, up to date on vaccinations such as Rabies and DHPP. Our pets are spayed/neutered prior to placement.
All of our pets are in foster homes where they enjoy living as part of a family.
The first step in adopting Luke is to request an application via email at aospca@verizon.net.
Luke is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
