My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, dog lovers! Are you ready to open your heart and home to an absolute gem? Introducing Shannon, a sweet 1.5 year old rescue dog who's currently melting hearts in her foster home.

Doggie Door Pro: Shannon's got this whole "in and out" thing down pat! With her doggie door expertise, your house is about to become her playground. No more waiting around to be let out – she's got it all under control!

Smarty-Paws: Shannon isn't just a pretty face – she's also got brains to match! She's mastered some key commands and is eager to learn more. The perfect companion for fun training sessions and bonding moments.

Toddler-Approved: Safety and gentleness are Shannon's middle names! She's a gentle soul around an18-month-old child, making her an ideal furry friend for families with little ones. Playtime and cuddles? Shannon's all in!

Dream Sleeper: Need a full night's rest? Look no further! Shannon is the ultimate snooze champion, snoozing through the night like a true pro. Say goodbye to midnight wake-up calls!

Cuddle Enthusiast: If you're a fan of cuddles, you've found your perfect match. Shannon adores snuggling up and sharing those heartwarming moments that make every day better.

Heartstring-Puller: Shannon's journey from the kennel at Evansville Animal Control to her foster home is a testament to her resilience and loving nature. She tugged at our heartstrings when she snuggled up to the door at Evansville Animal Control and presented her paw. Now, she's ready to find her forever home – could it be yours?

If you're ready to make this sweet pittie mix a permanent part of your family, visit ITVrescue.org to apply and learn more about this incredible pup. Let's give Shannon the loving home she truly deserves.

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
