My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Please contact Renee (renees@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet.

Archie is a happy, curious, and loving boy with plenty of energy for all the adventures! He enjoys meeting new people of all ages and gently interacts with everyone. He is a good listener, walks well on a leash, takes treats gently, and is house and kennel trained.

Archie rides quietly and politely in the car. He needs help to get in as he is understandably hesitant since the humans that gave up on him took him on a car ride, pushed him out of the car in a parking lot and drove away. He's learning quickly to trust that car rides lead to fun adventures and a safe return home.

Archie is a people pleaser, treat motivated, easily redirected and so affectionate. He has been a perfect foster respecting the older canines disinterest in play and making a new friend who also loves to play. He likes playing with toys, other dogs and being with his foster human. As active as he likes to be he is also a great couch potato and foot warmer. You will never be alone as he wants to be near the human at all times. Archie will do well in a home with another playful canine and a fenced yard or frequent opportunities to play with other canines in safe outdoor spaces. He is ready for his own family that will love him forever!

Approximate Birthdate:  April 2024

Adoption Fee: $200

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL.

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.

Additional adoption info

The first step to meet or adopt any of our animals is to fill out a no-commitment application online. This is normally followed up with a meeting between your family and the animal, and a home visit. Adoption fees range from $75 to $300. Please visit our website (TarasDream.org) for more information about our adoptable pet including bios, more photos, and each pet's adoption fee. If an animal is not listed on our website, they are no longer available for adoption.

More about this rescue

A non-profit 501C3, all volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless pets in the Greater Kansas City area. Our organization is the result of an alliance between several rescuers in the Kansas City region who share the same goal of ending animal suffering and homelessness.

Although we are foster home based, we also lease several kennels at a local boarding facility. Although this little "shelter" is allowing us to save many more lives, it is an added expense which is why we rely so heavily on generous donations from caring people in the community.

In addition to rescuing pets from difficult situations, we offer courtesy listings in Pet Finder, facilitate low-cost spays and neuterings, work on transfers and transports with existing rescue groups, help individuals and organizations promote, screen and educate potential adopters, fund raise to help pets with special needs, offer guidance and information about animal rescue, organize events, etc.
