Birdie and her sister Breezy came to Colorado from Texas to find a new lease on life. Breezy was lucky enough to find her forever home! Now Birdie is patiently waiting for her turn.
Birdie is an 11 month old GSP/Husky/Lab mix. She is beautiful, but very timid and shy. Her very unique quality is her one blue eye and one brown. Weighing in at about 30 pounds, she is the perfect size. And it doesn’t look like she will get much bigger. Sadly, she does not seem to have had much socialization in her short life, as she is very skiddish around newcomers. She has opened up and began to trust her foster family and will follow you everywhere. She will need a patient adopter that has time, patience and love ❤️ to devote to a timid dog. She has done well with the dogs and cat in the home, but will need slow introductions. She is also learning to walk on a leash 🦮. Birdie is doing well with potty training and has only had a few accidents. She loves early mornings outside and zooms around the yard. She sleeps in her crate all night. As time goes on, we see her quirky personality coming out. She is such a sweetheart! With time ⏰ , love and patience, she will become the most loyal friend and part of the family that someone has always wished for. Birdie is waiting in Wellington to meet her forever family.

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
