Meet Shark, the cutest little scruffy boy you'll ever lay eyes on! With his endearing face and shy demeanor, Shark is a special pup who is looking for a patient and loving family to help him come out of his shell. At about 12 pounds and one year old, he's the perfect size for snuggles, but he'll need some time to build the trust that makes those snuggles extra special.
Shark's journey hasn't been an easy one-he was found tied to a fence on the side of the road, which might explain why he's a bit slow to warm up to new people. But don't let his initial shyness fool you; beneath that cautious exterior is a heart full of love just waiting to bloom. He's a gentle soul who needs a calm, understanding home where he can feel safe and secure.
One of Shark's favorite activities is splashing around in the kiddy pool in the play yard. His playful side shines when he's in the water, and you can see glimpses of the happy, carefree pup he's meant to be. With a little patience and a lot of love, Shark will come to realize that he's finally found a place where he belongs, and that's when his true personality will start to shine.
If you have the love and time to give, Shark will reward you with a bond like no other. He's not just looking for a home; he's looking for someone who will be his forever family, who will help him build his confidence and show him what it means to be truly loved. If you're ready to give Shark the chance he deserves, he's ready to be your loyal, scruffy little companion for life.

More about this rescue
The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of fecal matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more than our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. Having said that, why would we choose to dive in deeper? For the love of the animals we serve. It is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. In August of 2009, we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with California and the Federal Government. It was and continues to be, a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing, but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey, and we hope to post MANY happy endings.
Our Mission Statement:
To provide a safe haven for domestic animals, regardless of breed or species, through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and sanctuary. To advocate for the humane treatment of animals and promote the human-animal bond. To educate the public about the importance of kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership which will emphasize spaying and neutering. To cooperate and work with other animal rescues and shelters towards the goal of becoming a no-kill nation.
