My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Al is a gorgeous orange and white tabby with really cute little flame/lightning bolt markings on his cheeks. His striking amber eyes give him a soulful sweet face. He is the protector and playmate of his litter.

This kitten cannot stop purring because he just loves life. He’s confident and always ready for a new adventure. He’s the first one at the door to see what’s going on and loves receiving attention. I think he could be harness trained and might enjoy a cat stroller.

Al also likes playing with toys especially the wand toys and little balls he can chase. He is a fun cat but he also likes a cuddle and to be held…. A LOT! If you rub his cheeks and the top of his nose he will purr himself to sleep. I don’t have young children but I think he would do fine with kids as he loves to play and is pretty gentle.

Al is not afraid of my large dog and will walk right up to her and touch noses. I would consider him great with dogs. He would be a good companion for another cat or friendly dog and would be happiest in a home with another pet to play with.

Al is kind of funny and quirky which will endear him to any family and he will be beloved in no time.
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.November 10, 2024, 11:21 am

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
