Chanterelle is a super-playful and energetic young cat! Roughly a year old, we rescued him near starvation inside of a Lowe's hardware store, covered in fleas/mites. He was microchipped and fixed, which unfortunately means he was abandoned as a young kitten and couldn't survive on his own. In the months since we've worked with him, he has put on healthy weight and gotten a clean bill of health. He is a loving cat when not entranced by any number of toys!
Unfortunately, it appears that he was separated from his litter too young, and had no socialization with other cats. While he loves people, he is actively aggressive and hostile to cats, which is why we can't keep him permanently. We would have otherwise, because I love this little guy.
He is a bit of a rough-houser, though we have worked on training him away from play-biting. It would probably be best not to have him in a house with young children.
He's named for a type of 🍄 which is coveted by foragers, and he loves his 🍄 toys
