My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Susie!
Susie is participating in our Adopt From Home program. Here is what her owner has to say about her!

"Susie is estimated to be about 3.5 years old. She is a mixed breed, thought to be some american staffy, lab, or boxer. Approximately 56 pounds. Currently located in Nampa, Idaho. Overall Susie is a sweet and high energy dog!

Susie's History
She orginially came from a shelter in Texas where she was found pregnant with 8 puppies and malnourished on the street. We adopted her 2.5 years ago in North Idaho and have loved her since. She has lived with us all over Idaho. The reason we are looking to rehome Susie is that she has not adjusted well to the baby in our house. She would do much better in a home without young kids, most likely a home with kids over the age of 12.

About Susie:

She is a very high energy dog, great for someone with a active lifestyle! She loves people and just wants to be around you all the time. She especially loves cuddling, tennis balls, sun bathing, being tucked into a blanket in the winter, and walks.

- Words she knows are sit, down, bed (sit in her bed), park, walk, and treat/food.
- She is currently trained to not be on couches or beds but would love to cuddle on them if you'd invite her.
- Susie is very athletic. She will run after a tennis ball for hours. She can do backflips and would probably do great at agility courses.
- She does not mind women but LOVES men.
- She also travels by car great! She loves to hop in for a 5 minute drive to Walmart or a 10 hour drive across multiple states. We have done many long trips with her.
- She doesn't care for large bodies of water but loves to play in sprinklers.
- She has been crate trained in the past but is currently not using one. She has done great with being in the bathroom if she needs to be separated.
-She is also a great disc golfing partner! She will chase your Frisbee but won't pick it up (she never figured it out).

Things to Consider Before Meeting Susie:
- She needs a diet free of chicken (causes diarrhea).
- She has experience with other dogs but can be picky about the ones she likes. Typically she does well with larger males and submissive females. She is a dominate female. Her current pair is a 140 lb great dane/english mastiff mix... and she is the leader Lol
- She does have a strong prey drive, so homes with small dogs, cats, small children, chickens or other birds are not a good fit.
- It's important to know she has rougher play style and some dogs don't vibe with that. She likes to make a lot of chewbacca sounds and butt run around the yard.
- While she has never been extremely destructive in the house, she sometimes gets a taste for small wood items (like kids blocks or sticks outside). But has never chewed furniture.
- Susie needs an outdoor space she can spend time in, she loves to sunbathe and run around (even when it's hot).

We have lots of things for her including a new bed, blankets, toys, food bowl, and other doggie accessories and we are happy to send her with them to make her more comfortable during this transition.

We really want to find her a loving home. We love her and are heartbroken to rehome her. If you would like to love Susie next please message or call me with questions or if you are interested in meeting Susie. 208-973-7714"
