My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Finch and her inseparable companion Sparrow, two resilient souls whose journey together speaks of courage, companionship, and the power of love.

These lovely felines found themselves in a precarious situation when their owner had to move into a nursing home, leaving them in a dark, flea-infested trailer without electricity for approximately four months before anyone was notified. Despite their challenging circumstances, Finch and Sparrow maintained their affectionate and curious spirits. They greeted the rescue team with gentle curiosity, showing no fear but instead a deep-seated trust in the kindness of humans.

Finch, with her endearing affection and playful demeanor, quickly stole the hearts of everyone she met. Her bright eyes, always filled with curiosity and a hint of mischief, reflect her resilient spirit. Whether she's playfully batting at a toy or nuzzling against Sparrow, Finch radiates a gentle warmth that is truly heartwarming.

Bonded closely with Sparrow, Finch exemplifies loyalty and friendship. The two cats are sharing not only their space but also their journey of recovery and healing. Despite their initial frailty—being skinny and anemic—they found solace and safety in each other's presence.

Now, in a loving and secure environment, Finch continues to thrive. Her funny antics and gentle nature bring joy to everyone around her. She has blossomed into a healthy and happy cat, thanks to the care and compassion she and Sparrow received. Their story is a testament to resilience, friendship, and the transformative power of love—showing that even in the face of adversity, a warm heart can always find a safe place to land.

We hope to find a home for Finch and Sparrow together, but it is not a requirement. Our top priority is to find each of them loving forever homes where they can be safe.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

We have a short, one page, questionnaire that will be filled out prior to meeting the pet. We do not use the questionnaire to "approve".

2.

Interview

We utilize conversational adoption. Since we do not have a brick and mortar facility, we will do this via phone before a meet and greet.

3.

Meet the Pet

We will arrange with the foster parent a time that works for everyone and offer same day adoptions.

4.

Pay Fee

Our cat adoption fee is $110, $150 if you adopt a pair, and our dog adoption fee is $175.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

6.

Take the Pet Home

You can bring your own carrier or we can provide a cardboard carrier for an additional $5.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is meant to reduce barriers to adoption. We have a simple questionnaire that does not determine if the adopter is "approved" or "denied" and then we have a conversation about their lifestyle, home environment, and what they are looking for in a pet.

Go meet their pets

Currently, AGC is operating without a facility as a rescue group. If you are interested in meeting our adoptable pets, please contact us and we will coordinate with our foster families to set up a meet & greet.

More about this rescue

All God's Creatures (AGC) is a non-profit community service initiated by the First Presbyterian Church for the welfare of animals and people. We see an immense need for an animal shelter in Henry County. We also see the need to befriend socially isolated neighbors like the elderly, veterans, the incarcerated, and disabled. We believe our shelter and volunteer programming will give hope, purpose, and friendship as we connect paws and people. We are currently operating as a rescue while we raise funds to renovate our building and open our shelter doors.
