My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Archie, our charming Border Collie mix with a heart as big as his energy! Archie came to our shelter with a broken leg, already healing by the time he arrived. Now fully recovered and maintained on joint supplements, Archie is ready for his forever home. He’s a bundle of joy, always eager to play and cuddle. Archie adores his chew bone, frozen stuffed kong, and a peanut butter-filled frisbee to keep cool during hot summer days. His ideal family would have children and a fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart`s content. Archie dreams of being an indoor dog, snuggling up with his family while they watch TV. If you`re looking for a sweet, energetic companion who’s ready to fill your home with love and laughter, Archie is the perfect pup for you!

Archie`s adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test (if over 9 months old), and kept up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

If you are interested in adopting Archie you may fill out an application at www.tlchs.org or you are welcome to make a Match Making appointment to come out and meet him/her first. We are open Tuesday – Sunday 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Go meet their pets

We do adoptions on the square in Dahlonega most weekends, attend various local events, have annual fundraisers, and our animals can be seen at the shelter any day from 10:00 - 4:30 (an hour for lunch from 12:00-1:00). Come by and see the new changes at the shelter as well, ask to volunteer, or just introduce yourself and meet the wonderful staff members.

More about this shelter

Established in 1977, TLC is one of the oldest no-kill shelters in North Georgia. Our shelter is on about six acres near the Lumpkin County shelter, and about five miles east of Dahlonega. Our focus is saving as many homeless pets as we can, and preventing the birth of unwanted pets. We have always relied on private donations to care for as many animals as we can.
