My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sparrow, the adventurous and gentle leader whose resilient spirit has guided her and her beloved companion Finch through challenging times.

Sparrow's journey began in a dim and flea-infested trailer, where she and Finch were left behind when their owner moved into a nursing home. It wasn't until four months later that people were notified of their situation. Despite the harsh conditions, Sparrow displayed a natural curiosity and a sense of adventure. When the rescue team arrived, Sparrow approached them with a quiet confidence, showing no fear but instead a trusting spirit that touched everyone who met her.

Adventurous and brave, Sparrow often takes the lead in exploring their surroundings. Her curious nature and bold spirit inspire Finch and reassure her during their journey of recovery. Together, they faced the challenges of their initial skinny and anemic state, finding strength and comfort in each other's company.

Sparrow's gentle leadership and affectionate nature have endeared her to everyone around her. Whether she's boldly investigating new corners of her safe haven or playfully encouraging Finch to join her in exploration, Sparrow embodies resilience and courage.

Now thriving in a loving environment, Sparrow continues to flourish as the heart and soul of their little duo. Her adventurous spirit and loving demeanor remind us of the transformative power of companionship and the resilience found in the bonds of friendship. Sparrow's story is a testament to bravery, love, and the profound impact that compassion can have on those in need—a testament that with kindness and care, every heart can find a safe place to land.

We hope to find a home for Sparrow and Finch together, but it is not a requirement. Our top priority is to find each of them loving forever homes where they can be safe.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

We have a short, one page, questionnaire that will be filled out prior to meeting the pet. We do not use the questionnaire to "approve".

2.

Interview

We utilize conversational adoption. Since we do not have a brick and mortar facility, we will do this via phone before a meet and greet.

3.

Meet the Pet

We will arrange with the foster parent a time that works for everyone and offer same day adoptions.

4.

Pay Fee

Our cat adoption fee is $110, $150 if you adopt a pair, and our dog adoption fee is $175.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

6.

Take the Pet Home

You can bring your own carrier or we can provide a cardboard carrier for an additional $5.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is meant to reduce barriers to adoption. We have a simple questionnaire that does not determine if the adopter is "approved" or "denied" and then we have a conversation about their lifestyle, home environment, and what they are looking for in a pet.

Go meet their pets

Currently, AGC is operating without a facility as a rescue group. If you are interested in meeting our adoptable pets, please contact us and we will coordinate with our foster families to set up a meet & greet.

More about this rescue

All God's Creatures (AGC) is a non-profit community service initiated by the First Presbyterian Church for the welfare of animals and people. We see an immense need for an animal shelter in Henry County. We also see the need to befriend socially isolated neighbors like the elderly, veterans, the incarcerated, and disabled. We believe our shelter and volunteer programming will give hope, purpose, and friendship as we connect paws and people. We are currently operating as a rescue while we raise funds to renovate our building and open our shelter doors.
