A kind soul took in Keanu after he was abandoned at a church. He was very polite with all the kids gathered around, so she thought this pup seemed destined to be a family guy!

Keanu is very social and loves being with his people/dog pack. His heart is open to those who share his love, but he's not a fan of the feline kind. He loves cuddles, head scratches, and going for runs, so he'd pair well with a moderately active person/people who can give him adequate one-on-one time and space to run.

Keanu is a gentleman who appreciates dogs that respect his space. His usual reaction is to ignore them or try to play with them. He could live with another dog, especially if they're more submissive. However, he does need to be fed separately.

Vetting: Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and heartworm negative

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.

We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.

Submit Application

We are 100% volunteer/foster based, so we do ask that you complete an adoption application in order for us to schedule a phone interview.

2.
Interview

After reviewing your application, we'll contact you to determine if dog is a good fit for your lifestyle and home.

3.
Approve Application

We check vet and personal references to ensure previous dogs were well cared for, so please be thorough in providing this info.

4.
Home Check

This enables the dog to get to know you and your home and for us to suggest anything they may need to be successful in your home.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

You would also pay the fee at this time, however, we offer a 2 week trial period before cashing your check. We will always take dogs back.

We are primarily a placement service, so the adoption fees vary depending on each pet and what caretakers have invested medically and behaviorally to ensure they are adoption-ready.

We do not have a shelter, so please understand that we are only able to support animals with foster homes or donations toward short-term boarding.

More about this rescue

Doggie Harmony is a metro-Atlanta dog rescue group focused on finding the right homes for dogs in foster care or belonging to owners who wish to re-home them. Our core objective is to place these dogs before they are turned over to animal control facilities, where they may be euthanized. Lastly, Doggie Harmony supports spay/neuter, wellness, and training to help keep or place dogs. This includes helping people find low cost resources and/or lending financial support where there's a qualified need.
