My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Marley! A Texas Sweetheart Looking For Her Forever Home!
Marley was picked up as a stray and subsequently found herself in an overcrowded Texas shelter. At the shelter she was terrified of so many new human faces and the numerous unfamiliar smells and sounds that surrounded her. She had an upper respiratory infection and tested positive for heartworms. She needed a savior, and fast! Luckily, some angels at A Lab for Life saw the beautiful soul within this scared pup and knew they could help her become the amazing dog she was destined to be.

From there, Marley arrived at her foster home to begin her fresh start. She was still scared, shy and on alert more often than not. One of the best ways to build up a shy dog's confidence around people is to enlist the help of a confident buddy. With a new canine companion to watch her back and patient caregivers to show her she was still safe even with people around, Marley's defenses slowly started coming down and she relaxed more and more as she gained confidence in her foster home.

Marley has completed her heartworm treatment and is finding her own confidence and hitting her stride. She's coming out of her shell and is blossoming in the warmth of all the love that she's finally able to feel and appreciate from all people. While Marley has accepted the love and attention of smaller children, their behaviors tend to make her nervous so she would do best in a home without young children.

Marley has a super sweet demeanor. She is a very calm and gentle dog who walks great on a leash and is housebroken. She is dog and cat friendly. Marley's perfect home would be a quiet one with a patient and understanding family which includes a companion canine that can help her continue building her confidence.

More about this rescue

A Lab for Life (ALL) provides a compassionate life-line to abandoned dogs that includes a safe haven, medical care by a licensed veterinarian, nutrition (food) and a fur-ever family through adoption. ALL promotes the humane treatment of animals in the community.

ALL was founded in July 2020 by a group of dog advocates in central Oklahoma and
Northeastern US after some had been volunteering with an out of state rescue for over 5 years. That experience solidified a local organization was needed. ALL formed to rescue as many stray, homeless and owner surrendered dogs as possible by partnering with many state-wide shelters and rescue operations. In addition to transferring homeless dogs from the shelters, fostering them in temporary homes and adopting them out, we also provide behavioral and medical resources to people who are considering surrendering their dog in an effort to keep the dog in their homes and out of the shelter/rescue system.
ALL operates under the 5 freedoms for animal welfare.
We are a brand new organization and welcome donations!
