Lucy Lou is a sweet but shy girl. She can be a bit bashful when she meets new people but opens up after a few days.
Lucy Lou has a very lady-like and delicate way of moving. She is a very submissive pup that looks up to other dogs. She loves her toys and will toss them across the room then run after them, playing fetch all by herself! When she is feeling comfortable, and doesn't think anyone is looking at her, her playful and rambunctious side really comes out!
Lucy Lou would do well in a home with a confident dog that she can emulate and relax with. She is mostly housebroken and does well in her crate. She is still learning to walk on a leash but is very treat motivated and we know she will get the hang of it soon!
Lucy Lou and her sister Chloe were found abandoned on the streets of Cleveland, Texas when they were 4 months old. Their foster mom couldn’t find a rescue willing to intake them until finally, a Sandy Paws volunteer saw her plea on social media.
Lucy Lou is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you).

All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort.
If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation.
