My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Dodger! I am 5 year old black lab mix. I weight about 70lbs. My foster mom wonders where I carry all my weight because I am pretty slender. I just remind her that I have long legs! I am pretty chill and it just love to be with my humans. I am 100% potty trained and I do not need to be kenneled. I fully understand that I am to only chew on my toys or bones. My favorite thing in the world to do is to go on walks and play with my stuffed animals. I currently sleep in bed with my foster mom and she says that I am great at keeping her feet warm. However I also do not mind sleeping on the floor or in a dog bed. I can pretty much sleep anywhere. I sometimes get a little sad when my foster family leaves. I do quickly settle down and lay down and look out the window waiting for their return! I am anxiously awaiting to find my forever family. I am looking for a family that can continue to work with me on my basic commands and allow me time to adjust to my new surroundings and people. At this time i do take a daily anxiety med. But I am told I will not have to take this very long. Just long enough for me to adjust to my new surroundings. My foster mom tells me that I am a good boy and I have amazing potential. I am pretty low energy unless you get me outside playing. I love to play tug of war with stuffed animals and I love tennis balls. Could you be my forever family?

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
