Beautiful brown-eyed Cedar is as pretty as they come. Weighing close to 15 lbs., 8-year-old Cedar enjoys being mellow most of the time, napping in the sun, daily short walks, and most importantly exploring her fenced-in backyard. Cedar comes from a breeding situation, where she had limited positive interactions with humans, so she's shy and very skittish. Taking things very slowly and giving her time to warm up (along with lots of treats), she'll be your new best friend asking for attention and ready for belly rubs.
Since Cedar startles easily, she prefers walking in quiet areas where she won't encounter a lot of strangers, loud noises, or dogs. Also, a securely fenced yard is a must and having a dog door is even better. She does just fine left alone loose for a couple hours at a time as long as she has a doggie companion. Cedar currently sleeps well in her crate every night but would probably love sleeping with her person once she feels safe.
Cedar has gotten along well with the other five dogs in her foster home, relying on them for comfort and joining in at barking at the wildlife. She doesn't often play with her foster siblings but does readily snuggle up to dogs and humans alike. Cedar would do best living with at least one other considerate, gentle dog. She does prefer women to men so a home with at least one female as her primary caretaker would be her choice. Cedar has a wonderful personality and has been a joy to her foster family. She's also as cute as a button! See more photos of this sweet girl at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/cedar .
