Hi! My name is Jacoby. I was surrendered to the shelter with my brother Judge by a backyard breeder at only 5 weeks old. I’m getting to be a big boy now and am ready to find my family. I am a typical shepherd puppy and don’t have an off switch. I love to explore and get into things. I have had a great start at socialization and am very brave in new experiences. I’m a little more laid back than my brother, and really like to snuggle. My favorite past time is digging holes and climbing on things. I know my basic commands but I like to talk about it first - I can be vocal. I love everyone I meet - even kiddos (cats are okay too)! My new family must understand my needs and what it will take to make me a happy, well adjusted adult. Daily vigorous exercise, and exposure to new things is a must. You may be questioning my blue eye… it’s likely a recessive gene.
I am going to be a big boy. Right now I’m all legs and ears, but that won’t last long. I am completely crate trained and housebroken. I will whine at the door to let you know I need to go out.
ADOPTION FEE: $400 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained)
I AM READY TO GO HOME!! If you are approved to be my new family, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $400 when MVPC comes to visit your house with me!
ADOPTER: MUST have breed experience
BIRTHDAY: 5/28/2024
FENCE: Required (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment)
DOG FRIENDLY: Yes
DOGS IN HOME: Yes
CATS: Yes, supervised - am learning not to chase
CHILDREN: Yes, 8 and over
INQUIRIES: ALL inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, www.miamivalleypitcrew.com. We do not adopt to individuals under the age of 25.
DO NOT: USE THE PETFINDER INQUIRY/CONTACT/ADOPT BUTTONS--we are unable to monitor those and you will not receive a response.
PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding!

Our adoption fees are $250 for adult dogs, and $350 for puppies 5mo and under. Adoption fees may be more or less depending on breed, special needs, etc. This covers all vetting and allows us to take on hard cases.
It all starts with an application.
http://www.miamivalleypitcrew.com
Our dogs are listed until an adopter is approved and a hold fee is received. Please submit an application for approval FIRST. You will receive a "received" auto response with further information. We do not adopt out littermates together. We are a 100% foster-based, volunteer rescue so we are not able to respond to every inquiry about a dog (though we try) and we will respond to a request for an application or if one is submitted through our website. Please allow 72 hours for us to respond, and please check your spam/junk mail folder first, then send us an email if you believe we have not responded! Since we are foster-based, we have no centralized facility to visit. All of our dogs live in private homes as members of their respective foster families.
We require a physical fence for most dogs.
Once approved, we bring the dog to your home for a home visit. If all goes well at the home visit, the adoption is completed at that time.

To cultivate an understanding of the American Pit Bull Terrier through positive education and example and change the misinformed minds of society one dog at a time!
Nonprofit Overview
The Miami Valley Pit Crew (MVPC) rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with a network of volunteer foster homes dedicated to rescue and rehabilitation of abused, neglected, and misunderstood dogs and puppies. While we are an all breed rescue, we specialize in "bully breeds" and other strong working breeds: Bulldogs, Pit Bulls, Mastiffs, German Shepherds and any mixes of the aforementioned. We pull dogs from the country's overcrowded shelters. We also educate owners and the public on bully breeds and Breed Specific Legislation (BSL). We specialize in dogs, but respect all living creatures and encourage others to do the same by education.
The MVPC evaluates each potential rescue request to determine the dogs re-homing probability. Our goal is to adopt out family dogs and ambassadors of their breed.
