Leah came to Ruff Love Rescue covered in mange.  She was placed on medication and received medicated baths twice a week until her skin condition cleared up.  She has huge patches were the fur hasn't grown back, and may never grow back.  But what Leah lacks in fur, she makes up in love and devotion.  She is one of the most loving dogs I've ever seen.  She just wants to be with people and touching them.  We've been working with her on basic commands like sit and stay and leash training.  She would still need some more training when she  finds her forever home, but she's very responsive and eager to please. She would make a great hiking or running buddy. And... we like to say that Leah's skin where the fur hasn't grown back feels like an expensive buttery leather.

More about this rescue

Ruff Love was founded by Sue Rogers in response to the overwhelming numbers of abandoned dogs in the Randolph County/Davidson County area. Over time, we have developed a network of volunteers and foster homes. Our rescue efforts are geared toward dogs. We are a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization so all donations to us are tax deductible. Currently, we are caring for over 100 dogs in our program, and almost 70 are adoptable. Most of the dogs that are not up for adoption are either old or are suffering from chronic health conditions. They will live out their days well cared for and comfortable in with Ruff Love Rescue.
