Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3

***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation***
Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.

We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.

Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal.

The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. They were one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 14 lives of mums, dads & puppies including Margaret.
Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Margaret how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home.

Margaret & her friends were bought back to the WA state where she is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home.

This sweetheart has had to learn everything of course & she is beginning to flourish in her foster home & has taught herself to go up & down the stairs. At first of course she had no clue but she is learning. Her foster mum said she is curious but not an adventurous girl. She has now learnt to walk on a harness & leash & goes for walks with her corgi friend & considering this has all been taught in a week she is flourishing & such a smart girl.
So very easy going & a free spirit. She deserves to be so very loved.
This little lady is now loving life in her foster home.
Her foster mum said, they went out for dinner & to the beach & she did amazing. She took a nap while they had dinner & enjoyed the beach. She also said she is a very calm corgi girl.
Margaret is such a sweetheart & deserves to be loved.
We have moved Margaret to another foster home & she absolutely loves the dogs in her foster home & will play with them & run & chase them. She loves to play with puppies too.

Margret eats a clean diet in her foster home meaning she eats raw proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains & supplements. She is obsessed now with bully sticks, collagen sticks & homemade treats.
She will even share everything with puppies that’s how innocent & sweet she is.

The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside.

She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until he was rescued.
She is great with her baths & getting nails done.

Margaret rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she went to be sold & when we got her & going home & to & from the vets with us & her loving foster home who take her out for outings. But she does absolutely amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Margaret as you can imagine spent the first part of her life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Margaret where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them.
Margaret is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her.

Margaret has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently with another corgi in her foster home. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for her to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard.

Margaret is roughly 23 lbs & she is 5 years old & we have her factual birthdate. She is a female & a corgi, what she is mixed with we are not sure. She is spayed microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHPP, bordatella, leptospirosis, rabies & dewormed. Margaret ended up getting a dental & having 3 teeth removed 2 minor & 1 premolar.

We have spent far more on Margaret with paying a fee to the breeder & bringing her to WA with her travel costs, her transportation to WA. All of her medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering.

Margaret has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats.

We were not there when Margaret was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.

As with all of our rescues & Margaret’s friends & siblings she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Margaret potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.

We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.

Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Margaret & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Margaret who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Margaret.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.

Margaret has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
