Today: I was happy to go on an adventure. I jumped right into my new friend’s SUV and patiently waited for her to buckle me up. However, I REALLY wanted to get into the front seat so I wrestled with the harness/leash for a little while. I make really cute snorting noises that made my new friend laugh. I enjoyed having my head out the window even though it was only rolled down a short bit. I gave my friend kisses periodically because I was so happy be on an adventure. We saw people, bikes, and some dogs. I loved being out on the trail! I liked the treats my friends brought with her, but when I am interested in something else, I don’t care about treats. I do love squeaky toys! I am a great leash walker and didn’t pull at all until I saw the feral kitties along the Coyote Creek Trail. I managed to mimic my walkers pace so when she wanted to run, I ran and when she wanted to walk, I walked.
I sure hope I find my truly forever family because I am a really sweet mama! Three Words to Describe Me are: Trainable, sweet and Playful Notes from My Walker:Sookie is an adorable, sweet, young pup. She hesitated when jumping in the car and needed a tiny bit of encouragement. She did not want to be in the back seat alone as evidenced by her wrestling with the harness but finally settled down with pets and scratches. She gave me periodic kisses and was very gentle and sweet. She makes a very cute snorting sound that could be mistaken as a growl but definitely was not. Once on the trail she acclimated to my walking pace very quickly. We ran after a bit and she picked up the pace perfectly. She was excited but walked pretty calmly on the leash, sniffing and checking things out on the trail. We saw dogs, squirrels, feral cats and a family of foxes.
She was VERY excited about the feral kitties and pulled on the leash but settled quickly after we passed them. She may be best in a home without cats. She would thrive in group or private dog training and with daily exercise. We stopped by PetSmart on the way back to the shelter so she could pick out her very own squeaky toy. Sookie is a loveable, sweet couch hippo and whoever adds her to their family will be very lucky!
09/27/24 02:47 Doggy Day Out Report Today I: met a new friend, and we took a nice walk in the park and around the neighborhood. I was shy at first, but I warmed up as my new friend led me to her car. I hopped right in
