How this pet arrived:
Mr. Kook was brought in by his previous owner.

Why Mr. Kook might be the one for you:
Meet Mr. Kook (the Mr.), a guy on the hunt for his new home! The Mr. is in a foster home where his foster family says he is doing very well and settled in nicely with the resident cat. They say the Mr. is a vocal guy and not shy about telling you when it is time for food - which is often - and when it is time for pets and attention - which is also often. . Patience is key with the Mr. If his new family focuses on building trust through food, treats, and play the Mr. will like that. The Mr will do best in a quiet home with patient people. Does that sound like your place and does the Mr. sound like a cat you might like in your place? If so, and want to meet the Mr., contact us at the above information and we will arrange a meeting for you and the Mr. Perhaps you will be ready to welcome this sweet guy into your heart and home so bring a carrier when you come to meet the Mr.

Shy/Fearful Cat:  The Mr. requires a virtual l behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
