My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings, noble companions, and merry band of adopters! Allow me to introduce myself:

I am Toby Turtle of the Robin Hood Litter, a 7-week-old, 4-pound bundle of Great Pyrenees mix mystery and delight. What am I mixed with, you ask? Well, that remains a riddle for the ages! Perhaps a dash of Golden Retriever, a pinch of Anatolian Shepherd, or a sprinkle of Collie. Who knows? I might just be a perfect swirl of breeds! One thing is for certain, though: I am destined to be a "fun size" hero in the grand forest of life, likely growing to a noble 40-60 pounds. Of course, that's just a guess—one never knows when a legendary growth spurt may strike!

I have a tale to tell. It all began when my eight siblings, our dear mother, and I found ourselves in a perilous predicament. We were surrendered to the shelter, and due to overcrowding, we faced the dire fate of the euthanasia list. The shadow of uncertainty loomed over us, but just when hope seemed lost, a heroic foster family stepped up to save us from this grim fate. Thanks to their courageous and compassionate hearts, we were given a second chance at life. So, ready your bows, gather your arrows, and get ready to welcome me to your family! Let's make merry in our very own Sherwood Forest! 🏹🐢🌳

My foster mama says I'm a bit bashful—but don't let that fool you. I'm not timid, just selectively enthusiastic! While my siblings charge into the fray at the first sign of excitement, I prefer to hang back and observe. Why rush when you can savor the moment, right?
I’m not the first in line for food or when mama comes to nurse us; patience is a virtue, after all. But, oh, when my brother Skippy starts cooking up some mischief, I’m right there with him, playing the role of his trusty sidekick. If there's trouble to be had, you can bet I’ll be in the thick of it, wearing my best "who, me?" expression. My foster mama insists there's something really special about me. Maybe it’s the dashing white stripe of fur that runs from my nose to the back of my neck—my own personal racing stripe. Or perhaps it’s my sweet, reserved personality that’s part Zen master, and part undercover prankster. More likely, it’s my winning combination of charm, wit, and irresistible puppy eyes though.

I’ve got a medium energy vibe—just enough zest to keep things interesting, but with plenty of chill to keep things cozy. Most of the time, you'll find me lounging around, perfecting my quiet, contemplative look. But don’t be fooled! Every now and then, my inner rascal emerges, and my puppy orneriness kicks in. When my brother Skippy gets up to something curious or mischievous, I can’t help but join in the fun. Together, we explore the world with just the right mix of adventure and relaxation. So, if you're looking for a pup who can bring both calm and a touch of playful curiosity to your life, I’m your guy. Overall, I would probably prefer a quieter lifestyle. I'm not the most excitable pup—you won’t catch me bouncing off the walls or hosting any wild puppy parties. But when it comes to a bit of adventure, I'm all for it—as long as it’s a gentle one! Easy hikes? Absolutely! I’d love to stroll through the woods and take in the sights and sounds of nature. However, you won’t find me signing up for any marathon treks or scaling mountains. A leisurely walk with plenty of time to sniff and explore is just my style. From squeaky toys to chewables, I find joy in all sorts of puppy playthings. Whether it's a spirited game of tug-of-war or just having a good ol' chew session, I’m always up for some toy-time fun. Now, when it comes to fetch, I haven't quite mastered the art yet. Maybe I’m saving that skill for a rainy day—or perhaps I just prefer to let someone else do the running!

I’m absolutely great around kids! Whether they’re playing, laughing, or just hanging out, I’m ready to be their loyal companion and playmate. So, if you’ve got little ones who are looking for a furry friend to share their adventures and quiet moments with, I’m your pup. When it comes to meeting new people, I’m more of a reserved gentleman. I might be a bit bashful at first—kind of like a shy debutante at a royal ball—but don’t worry, I’m not timid. Give me a moment to warm up, and you’ll find I’m just as charming and lovable as can be. With a little patience and a friendly smile, I’ll be your loyal sidekick in no time. I’m fantastic with my fellow canines! I might sometimes keep to myself and enjoy a bit of solo chill time, but I also love snuggling and playing with my siblings. Whether it’s sharing a cozy corner or engaging in playful antics, I’m always up for a good doggy bonding session. So, if you’ve got other pups in your home and are looking for a friendly and adaptable companion, I’m ready to join the pack. When it comes to our feline friends, my experience is a bit of a mystery, as I haven’t had the chance to meet any cats yet. However, based on my gentle and adaptable nature, I think I’d do just fine with them. I’m a curious pup with a sweet disposition, so I’d likely approach any cat with a friendly attitude and a wagging tail.

As of now, I’m still mastering the art of potty training—think of me as a young squire learning the ropes. I’m not quite a potty pro yet, but I’m eager to earn my knightly status with a little help from you!
So, if you’re up for a bit of training adventure and don’t mind a few slip-ups along the way, I promise to give it my all and turn into the best-behaved pup this side of Sherwood Forest. I am indeed kennel trained! 🏰🐢 I know how to settle into my cozy den and make it my little haven, so you won’t have to worry about me making a fuss when it’s time to rest or relax. As a noble pup in training, I’m quite curious about everything around me. From the mysterious cords lurking on the floor to the tantalizingly chewable shoes, the world is full of fascinating—and sometimes mischievous—opportunities. So, it’s crucial to make sure that your home is properly puppy-proofed so I can keep my good boy status! Socialization and training are key to helping me grow into a well-behaved and happy pup. Socialization is key to helping me become a well-rounded, confident canine citizen. Meeting new people, experiencing different environments, and interacting with other dogs will help me grow into a friendly and adaptable pup. Training, on the other hand, helps me learn the rules of the kingdom—how to behave, follow commands, and be the best pup I can be. With your guidance, I’ll master essential skills and develop good habits, making our life together harmonious and joyful.

Hear ye, hear ye, future heroes of the realm! Toby Turtle of the Robin Hood Litter here, ready to join your family. I may be small now, but with your love and guidance, I’m destined to be a valiant and cherished member of your family. Together, we can embark on countless quests, from cozying up by the hearth to exploring enchanted forests and beyond. So, arm yourself with a heart full of love and a spirit of adventure, and let’s set off on this epic journey together. Adopt me, and let’s write our own legendary tale filled with joy, laughter, and a touch of mischief. 🏹🐢❤️

With a wag and a wiggle, I bid thee farewell—for now!
Toby Turtle 🐢✨🎩
