My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dottie Lynn, an absolute sweetheart with some gorgeous brindle markings, including a distinctive Haggerty spot/dot on the top of her head. Dottie is a lover but not a licker. She is very attentive with her people and listens well. She really enjoys affection and will jump in front of other dogs or bump them out of her way to get pets. She’s a great lap dog and is very content lounging around with her people. She’s more timid with strangers and frightened by loud noises, so a more laid back home would be best for her. She loves meal and snack time and will tap her feet in excitement.

The Basics
Age: 9 yrs (DOB 12/4/14)
Weight: 22 lbs
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes
On Heartworm Prevention: Yes
House-Trained: Yes, will go outside and use pee pads
Crate-Trained: Yes
Medical: Recently treated for kennel cough. Had two lumps removed that were benign.

Likes/Dislikes
Toys: Hasn’t shown any interest in toys yet
Other Animals: Doesn’t mind being around other dogs. Will warn other dogs with a growl or snap if they make her uncomfortable by getting right in her face. In her previous home, all 3 dogs ate out of the same bowl, so there was some unnecessary competition. She should be fed separately to avoid any concern over competition for her food bowl.
People/Kids: Sweet with her people, but barks at strangers at first
Car Rides: Rides quietly, comfortable crated in the car
Separation: Doesn’t mind separation

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "the new moxie-doxy" treatment for heart worms).

It is our expectation & a requirement that heartworm preventative be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.

More about this rescue

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers for many years, we are very familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.
