My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cheesy Puff came to us from the Wilson County Humane Society where his tail was degloved from an unknown cause. His remaining tail is healing fine, but he tested positive for Feline Leukemia, so they called Purr Partners.

He is now in a loving foster home with fellow FELV positive kitties that he adores. He will most likely have a shortened lifespan due to testing positive at such a young age, probably somewhere between 1 and 2 years. Regardless, he is living his best life as a Purr Partners rescue kitty. He's otherwise healthy and oh so happy. AND he loves to give kitty kisses ♥

Cheesy Puff is an energetic little boy who plays hard and naps hard, LOL. He enjoys playing with his toys and with his older foster siblings, especially Decibel. He will find a favorite spot to rest up between wrestling matches and playing chase around the house. Or he will find a favorite human to snuggle up with and purr until he quickly falls asleep on them. He eats canned and dry kitten food, but usually plays with his treats before he or another cat ends up eating them.

Cheesy Puff should not live with any other cats unless they are also FELV positive. He happily shares his foster home with a laid-back senior dog, and FELV is not transferable to non-feline species.

Cheesy Puff will make a wonderful addition to any household, and we hope you will consider adopting this super sweet loving boy who will melt your heart as soon as you meet him.

More about this rescue

Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, foster-based, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in Central North Carolina — incorporated in 2009 by two friends, four cats, and no budget. These two women realized the need for a "cat only" rescue that worked with rural shelters — where cats routinely lose their lives. Purr Partners was founded to save the lives of those most in jeopardy with little hope of survival. High-kill rural shelters became the focus for Purr Partners, and that is still true today. From those humble beginnings, the rescue has grown to over a hundred active volunteers and a budget of approximately $175,000. At any given time there are between 100 and 150 cats and kittens in foster care. We have saved the lives of over 3500 cats and are still growing!
