My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please visit leiashope.org for our adoption process.
Located in Troy, MO

Requirements:
Canine Companion
Secure physical fenced yard

Barbie is a sweet but shy young lady. She was born in a puppy mill and did not receive the socialization or attention she needed.

Barbie is scared of overhead pets and her new family needs to learn how to pet her under her chin and ears until she trusts you. Overhead pets is a sign of dominance and scary for mill dogs.

Barbie enjoys the company of other dogs and another young dog in the home will help Barbie gain some confidence and learn to trust people. She will sit on a person's lap when sitting on the floor with her.

She enjoys running around outside and just being free.

We will be requiring a canine companion and a secure physical fenced yard for Barbie.

Barbie's adoption fee is $500. She is microchipped, current on age appropriate vaccines, spayed and on monthly heart worm prevention. Next steps can be found at leiashope.org.

PLEASE NOTE: We are a volunteer ran rescue with full time jobs. Please allow 7-10 days for application processing.
All of our dogs are in foster homes and a meet and greet is done ONLY after an approved application.
We do adopt out of the area. However, we do not ship or provide transportation. You must come to the location of the dog to meet and adopt. NO EXCEPTION. All family members and dogs must be present at the meet.
Dogs are a commitment for THEIR lifetime. For puppies this could be 15 years. If YOU cannot commit to the lifetime of the DOG, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where there is someone home frequently (works from home or a partner is home), can adequately socialize and train the puppy, and can keep up with puppy energy!
