My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Curtis is a 3 year old male neutered satin mix rabbit. He was surrendered by his owners because of allergies. He is a chonky and lovable boy who is nervous at first but quickly warms up if you have snacks! He does get defensive when he is uncomfortable, so he is best adopted by someone who understands bunny body language and can recognize when he is feeling uncomfortable/territorial and avoid pushing him over the edge. Small children might be a little unpredictable for Curtis, depending on the child. Once he is comfy and in a good mood, he is a friendly, hilarious guy who loves to binky and will sell his soul for a snack.https://www.lostwoodsas.com/adoption-application

Go meet their pets

We are currently open by appointment only to see all the pets, but we frequently appear at farmer's markets and other local events with adoptable animals.

More about this shelter

We are a specialty rescue for small exotic pets, such as reptiles and small mammals. We were formed by two women who met working at a nature center. In their interactions with the public they noticed a need in the area for a rescue that specialized in exotic pets, as well as a value in public education. Lost Woods Animal Sanctuary was formed with the mission to reduce mistreatment and abandonment of animals through rescue and rehoming, as well as educational outreach.
