In foster in Tumwater, WA

Cowboy is a loving and good-natured Red Heeler Mix (aka Australian Cattle Dog). We don’t know what large breed he is mixed with but his ears lay down like a hound and he has the speckles of a heeler. He’s estimated to be 1.5 to 2 years old and he is as smart as a whip! His foster mom says he really wants to please you and he takes correction well. He is energetic and gets along with all sizes of dogs and he does OK with adult cats but needs to be monitored, he does have a little prey drive, but not overwhelming.

Cowboy is crate trained and because of life circumstances that sometimes come with rescue, he is currently crated 5-6 hours per day and overnight. He is going to be thrilled to have more daily freedom at his new home! He knows how to behave on-leash but can become over excited and pull some, we recommend a martingale collar to remind him gently and safely when he decides that he must chase a grasshopper! He is a bit overweight at 70 lbs now but should easily drop 10 lbs with more activity. Overall, he is a wonderful, loving boy who is going to make a great family pet!

Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention.

Adoption Fees
The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting.

All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog.

HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/

This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose.

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
