My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Born in the wild, Elektra is a blend of sweet curiosity and playful shyness. She will hide for the first month(s) after adoption, but don't be disheartened. This is merely her way of feeling out her surroundings, a testament to her keen sense of caution and intelligence. Elektra is sweet when she trusts you and she lets you pet her. Her favorite thing in the world is to be scratched under the chin while she lays in the sunshine from the window. She wants to be loved and love you back!
She has recently started coming downstairs to visit and play with some of the other kitties. She is in the room with the dogs, but keeps her distance.

***Because she is so shy, she will need to be adopted with Kai the Kia Cat (See his profile for his information.) She and Kai get along quite well. They play hard and have fun. Due to Elektra's severe shyness, you get two kittens for the price of one.

*Their new family will need patience and acceptance. They are a special pair who need a special adopter.

If you think you would be a good fit, please fill out an application. You will get a call from me (their foster mom) and we can talk more about their needs.

More about this rescue

At Oakbrook Cat Rescue, we are a dedicated team of passionate volunteers united by our love for cats. As a no-kill rescue group, we provide a safe haven for both kittens and adult cats, ensuring they thrive in loving foster homes instead of cages. Our mission is to shower every feline in our care with compassion while offering essential services such as spaying, neutering, vaccinating, microchipping, and conducting FIV/FeLV combo tests.

We believe that every cat, whether a playful kitten or a wise old soul, deserves a second chance at happiness. In addition to caring for our adoptable cats, we support our community by assisting with the needs of feral and community cats whenever we can, helping to provide care and resources for local colonies.

From the most affectionate to the shyest, Oakbrook Cat Rescue is devoted to finding each of them a forever home filled with love. Together, we strive to make a difference—one paw at a time.
