My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Babitha: The Sweet, Shy Girl Who's Ready to Blossom

Babitha, affectionately known as Babs, Babaliscious, or Pumpkin, is on a journey to find her forever home—a place where she can continue to grow into the loving, loyal companion we know she can be. At around 2 years old, Babitha has spent the last 3 months in foster care, and the progress she’s made so far is a testament to what a little love, patience, and kindness can do.

Personality: Babitha’s journey started as a stray in a canyon, and although her early days were rough, she’s showing that with every new day, she’s becoming more confident. Her happy place? Among her furry friends—she gets along beautifully with both dogs and cats. Human interaction is where she’s still learning, but every day brings new breakthroughs. She adores her foster mom and has become quite the cuddlebug, loving head pats, belly rubs, and showering you with kisses once she trusts you. (Oh, and watch out—she’s got a quirky love for armpits and won’t hesitate to join you on your yoga mat!)

Progress: While she didn’t get much human attention in her first foster home, Babitha has been steadily coming out of her shell. She’s starting to show her sweet and adoring side, particularly to those who are patient and gentle with her. With each new experience, Babitha is rising to the occasion—whether it's going on walks or runs, or simply dressing up for her next adventure.

Ideal Home: Babitha is most comfortable when she’s got another dog to buddy up with and a human who’s structured and patient. Her perfect match will be someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to give her the space to continue growing. A predictable routine and a calm environment will help this shy girl truly shine. And trust us, once she blossoms, there’s no turning back—she’ll be the loyal, loving companion you’ve been waiting for.

Are you ready to help Babitha write the next chapter of her story? If so, contact her foster mom to start the process of getting to know this special girl.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We are doggie and kitty match-makers. We do everything in our power to assure that our dogs or cats will thrive in your environment.

Please start by submitting an application to adopt on our website. We do our best to respond to all applications but do to the number of applications received, this may always not be possible.

If you, your family and your lifestyle look like a good fit for the personality and needs of the animal, there's a phone call to chat and answer any additional questions. From there we will arrange a no-obligation meet and greet, where the animal could then go home with you, provided it is a good fit for all involved! (All this can happen within a week's time!)

A contract is signed at time of adoption. If for ANY reason you are unable to keep your companion, we quite passionately INSIST the animal be returned to us and NOT dropped in a shelter. We would happily take any of our adoptions back if it proves NOT a good fit for your family. :-)

Adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, basic vaccinations, (including rabies if old enough), deworming, rescue and transport costs, other medical services as needed (which can include but not limited to skin scrape, fecal exam, x-ray, amputation and hospitalization). Felines additionally receive an felv/fiv test and checked for ringworm with the Woods lamp prior to transport.

Adoption fees may vary due to special health circumstances, but typically start with...adult dogs (1 year and older): $425; puppies: $475; adult cats (1 year and older): $175; kittens: $250.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster based rescue ~ we DO NOT have a physical shelter at the moment. All of our dogs and cats reside in foster homes all throughout the Front Range and the Western Slope of Colorado. We have adoption events regularly at Petsmart stores in Denver, CO. If we do not have an event scheduled, we can arrange a time for you to meet one of our animals available for adoption.

More about this rescue

We relocate dogs and cats from high-intake shelters, animal control facilities, and reservations in the Four Corners area to animal rescue partners and forever homes in Colorado. We provide transportation to foster homes and other partner organizations, offer medical care and low/no cost spay and neuter services, manage a network of foster homes for temporary shelter, and run adoption events so that these animals can find forever homes.

Since March of 2012, we have transported thousands of at-risk dogs and cats to safety, solely on generous donations from caring individuals like you who see how dire the need is in and around the Navajo reservation.
