My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Merida is a long-haired love that came to her foster family along with her two kittens. Unfortunately, Merida and her kittens were afflicted with a bad case of fleas upon arrival. Merida has recovered well and lets her personality shine. She is a sweet, cuddly and docile girl that loves to play (once her kittens have had their chance, of course) and will even roll over to accept belly rubs from anyone she comes to know. As playful as Merida can be, she also enjoys staring out windows from her perch, chirping at the wildlife she sees and letting her cat instincts show. However, Merida is also very cautious of loud noises and people who do not respect her boundaries. Those who want Merida's affection will most certainly receive it as long as they give her a chance to warm up to them.

Merida was born around July 31, 2023 and is currently being fostered in Prospect. S he is fixed, is up-to-date on shots, is microchipped and tested neg for FIV/FeLV*.

All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved.

We are a foster-based rescue. All our cats reside in private homes. A meet-and-greet can be arranged for approved adopters only.

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.fosterandforever.org. If all is well on your application, we will contact you about setting up a home visit by one of our volunteers.

**Please give your vet permission to release information to us as we check references.

The adoption fee for our cats covers the cost of spaying/neutering, age appropriate routine vaccinations, deworming, snap test, and flea preventive treatment. Some of our older cats are offered at a reduced fee in order to encourage placement in a permanent home.

Foster and Forever Pet Rescue Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue that was founded in 2011. We have been working since then to improve the lives of abandoned, abused and homeless animals by serving as an umbrella under which foster homes will provide care for homeless animals until loving permanent homes can be found.

We provide spay/neuter services and all necessary medical care, as well as food and supplies, and find foster homes to care for the animals we rescue until we are able to find them forever homes.
