My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nimoy. This 10-year-old handsome gentleman is just that. A gentleman. He has very good house manners and gets along well with other dogs, large and small. He is not good with cats. He has not been tested with small children.  He loves people and craves attention and love.

Nimoy came from a very loving home and sadly lost it when his previous owner died along with his canine companion leaving him with no home, so he came to rescue.

Here is what we know about him: He walks well on a leash and knows sit, stay and come. He is house trained but not crate trained. He has severe separation anxiety but is fine if he has a canine companion to stay with him when his people are gone. He would not be a good dog for a first-time dog owner as he does have some issues that would require someone with some experience to work through.

In summary, the perfect home for Nimoy would be with experienced dog owners with patience and knowledge to continue to help him work through some issues that most likely have resulted from the loss of his family. He needs a calm home without cats, preferably with a canine companion. I would not recommend a home with small children. He is UTD on all vaccines, neutered, and on HW and Flea and Tick preventative.

Are you that perfect home to provide Nimoy with his soft spot to land and spend his golden years? If so please go to the website below and fill out an application.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Once we have your application we will begin our screening and matching process so we can help find you a perfect match.

All Applicants are interviewed, reference checks and a home visit completed.

Once approved and you have met a dog that you would like to adopt, an adoption contract will be completed and an adoption donation of $300.00 requested to complete the adoption process.

BCR&R is totally dependent on our volunteers and foster homes, most of whom have full time careers and commitments outside of BCR&R. As a result, we work with potential adoptive families in the evenings and weekends.

More about this rescue

Border Collie Rescue & Rehab (BCR&R) is a network of volunteers and foster homes dedicated to helping save Border Collies, Border Collie mixes and other similar herding breeds.

The dogs in our program have come from shelters and the streets and we bring them into our homes and provide them with the training and love necessary to help them become valued members of a family. We call it our Rescue & Rehab Program.

All dogs are provided with necessary veterinary care and are microchipped. The dogs in our program will live with us as part of our families for a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks for evaluation and training in addition to ensuring overall health.
