Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Howdy! I’m Winnie - the sweetest cattle dog in Central Texas! And I dare you to resist my sassy strut and wiggly tail nub! I’m a 6-7(ish) year old female Texas Heeler (that’s Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd if you were wondering). But don’t let my age fool you into thinking I act like a senior dog. I love playing tug and zooming around the yard with my foster brother! And afterward, I’m happy to chill with you on the sofa, or wherever you prefer to cuddle - because I LOVE a good cuddle with my humans!
I’ve been with BCRRT since last year because when they found me, I was VERY pregnant and also heartworm positive. I was the best mama ever to 9 pups, but I’m happy to be retired from that and now I just play auntie to my kittty foster siblings - I’m great with them, as well as the chickens and any dogs or humans that I meet! I’m also crate trained and my foster mom says I’m a good girl on the leash and in the car. I'm all healthy now and ready to meet my furever humans. So if you’re ready to welcome all this charm and huggability into your home, apply to adopt at BCRRT.com

Once we have your application we will begin our screening and matching process so we can help find you a perfect match.
All Applicants are interviewed, reference checks and a home visit completed.
Once approved and you have met a dog that you would like to adopt, an adoption contract will be completed and an adoption donation of $300.00 requested to complete the adoption process.
BCR&R is totally dependent on our volunteers and foster homes, most of whom have full time careers and commitments outside of BCR&R. As a result, we work with potential adoptive families in the evenings and weekends.

More about this rescue
Border Collie Rescue & Rehab (BCR&R) is a network of volunteers and foster homes dedicated to helping save Border Collies, Border Collie mixes and other similar herding breeds.
The dogs in our program have come from shelters and the streets and we bring them into our homes and provide them with the training and love necessary to help them become valued members of a family. We call it our Rescue & Rehab Program.
All dogs are provided with necessary veterinary care and are microchipped. The dogs in our program will live with us as part of our families for a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks for evaluation and training in addition to ensuring overall health.
