My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Delilah is 1 1/2 years old and found herself in a partner shelter in NC. She'd been there for 116 days without adoption interest and her time was running out. Due to overcrowding she had to share her kennel with several other females while she was there and she loved every bunkmate.
So we sprung her out of the joint and she's now settling into the sanctuary in NC with some of the other H-E-A-R-T pups. She's been a little more reserved than some of our crazies, but they're teaching her how to all out Husky!
Her favorite thing is to roll and slink in the wet grass in the morning. She also likes to wade in the pond with some of the other pups. Delilah would do best in a home with other dogs and someone who has a fenced yard or neighborhood dog park. She was in the shelter so long we want to make sure she has a home where she can stretch her legs off leash in a securely fenced area. She's highly adaptable and as sweet as can be.
So get a jump start on the application because that stunning mask and sweet disposition would be great to almost any pack! We do not know if she's cat friendly.

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.
