My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lupin is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Lupin! I am a handsome 4 year old flashy fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to a change in family dynamics and my current owner being allergic and unable to be as affectionate with me. I am described as shy, active, protective, playful, and affectionate. I can be very territorial and protective of my owners when they are around me. When someone takes me on a leash away from my owners or when I am at doggy day camp (I only play with staff and not other dogs), I am said to behave excellently. I am very dog selective and like to keep to myself so it is best that I be the only dog and not interact with other dogs (or cats!) at doggy day camps, dog parks, etc. There are no children in my home and I have not had interaction with kids so it is best that I am in a home with no kids. I am house trained but would need assistance learning crate training manners if that is needed in my forever home. At night I sleep on the bed and when the humans are away I get anxious being left alone but am ok for 3-4 hours at a time. I will take any opportunity I am given to be active and play, but I am also content spending a lazy day inside without fuss so long as I have the occasional toy thrown for me. I am extremely careful around household objects. If a ball is thrown for me and it lands near furniture or anything delicate, I will very slowly and carefully paw at it from a distance to avoid clumsy mistakes, and if that doesn't work, I just ask the human to get it for me. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am fearful of anything that is falling, crinkling objects such as trash bags, being left alone for more than 4 hours, and nail trimming. I love playing fetch with my stuffed animals and am gentle with them so they last me a long time! Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, walks, naps, physical contact, and playing fetch! My owner says I am “an incredibly affectionate dog and will attach himself to a couple/family very strongly”. If you are looking for an only dog to be your homebody companion, look no further! Contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!
