My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jasper is only a few months old (born early June 2024), but he has loads of personality! He likes to be part of a pack, but also has an independent streak. A few of Jasper’s favorite things include wrestling, chasing and being chased, playing with toys, and eating. He even fetches! Now that he’s fully vaccinated, he’s started going on short walks with his foster family and really seems to enjoy exploring the neighborhood and meeting new people. He is great at being in his crate when his foster parents are at work and sleeps in his crate at night. Jasper has really improved on his house training and hasn’t had an accident in the house in a while. Because he loves food so much, he has learned, with the help of treat training, a few commands, including “sit,” “go potty,” and coming when his name is called. Jasper would love to be part of your family to continue to learn more!

Jasper’s Highlights:

  • Crate trained
  • Friendly with other dogs
  • Untested with cats
  • He’s a typical puppy and working on not being mouthy or jumping, so he likely would do best with a family who could help him continue to learn not to do those things (no very small children)

More about this rescue

Mission: To rescue, rehabilitate, and find qualified loving homes for neglected, abused, and unwanted Huskies throughout Texas. To educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the special qualities of the Siberian Husky Breed.

History: Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc relies solely on volunteer foster families to take huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and requires that all dogs over 6 months are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We ensure that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants.
