Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bojangles came to 4Paws from a partner shelter in King George, VA when his owner was deployed. He is a big, beautiful, chatty boy who sounds like he is saying 'I love you' when he talks. He currently lives with multiple other cats and a small elderly dog but is not interested in interacting with them. He tolerates them but tends to get annoyed when they get into his personal space. His foster mom believes he will be happiest as the only cat in the home with a loving human to dote on him.
He is friendly and sweet when he wants attention and he WILL let you know he wants attention! He can be picked up, brushed, and pet for short periods and then will let you know when he is done. He is not a lap cat but when he's feeling it, he can rub up against you or even possibly sit next to you in a chair. He loves having people's attention, even if he doesn't always love to be touched.
He is not particularly interested in toys or playing but does love to look out the window and scratch up cardboard or sisal rope scratchers. He enjoys sleeping in a high cat tower and lord over everyone, like the regal animal he is.
He will need an experienced cat owner who will allow extra patience and time for him to relax and acclimate to a new environment. He would not do well with young children or active dogs. He would do great as a single cat in a calm and loving home that understands he has his own boundaries and doesn't mind his chatter!
Bojangles' estimated birthdate is January 2013. He is neutered, current on his vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and has been microchipped.

At the adoption fairs, if you meet a kitten or cat that you want to adopt, you will be asked to complete an application and contract and leave a check for the adoption fee ($120 for an adult or $145 for un-neutered kitten of which $50 is a deposit that is refunded after you provide 4Paws proof of sterilization). We ask that you pay the adoption fee up front at the fairs in order to “put a hold” on the cat until your application is processed. If your application is not approved, your check is returned to you.
Neither cats nor kittens are sent to their new homes on the day of the fair. It usually takes 4-5 days to process the application before the cat can go to his or her adoptive home. Pre-approval is an option, though. To accelerate the adoption process, you can fax a completed application and contract to us at 703-560-9795 a few days before the fair. Adoption Applications are available on this website.

Adoption fairs are held once or twice a month at various PETCO stores in Northern Virginia. The adoption fairs are usually held on Saturday’s from 1:00 to 5:00. Between 30 and 60 cats and kittens are shown for adoption at each fair—with the larger fairs generally occurring April through October.
While they are waiting to find permanent loving homes, our cats temporarily live in foster homes. The foster families bring the cats and kittens to the adoption fairs to be seen by potential adopters. Applicants have the opportunity to handle the cats and in some cases, meet the foster parents who can provide additional insight into a cat’s habits and personality.
