Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Yuki is a suuuper chill 6-year-old kitty looking for his forever home. He is named after 2018 Boston Marathon Champion Yuki Kawauchi!
Yuki is a sensitive tuxedo guy who takes a little longer to feel comfortable in new places and with new people. He looks to his sister or other kitty friends for cues. He isn't the best at meowing, but it's very endearing. His meows sound like he is saying "rat"! Yuki will hang out close to his humans and keep an eye on household activities. He is a happy guy who will often start purring with nothing more than a smile from his human.
Yuki is a simple kitty who likes to lay around with his humans. He isn't the most playful, but he does enjoy the laser pointer occasionally. He and his sister Des were adopted into a loving home about 5 years ago from another rescue, but their family became unable to care for them after a change in their health. Des was mean to Yuki sometimes, but Yuki loves other cats. He would do best in a home with a sweet and friendly kitty friend, or a human with lots of time to give him love and attention through the day.
Yuki is currently up for adoption at the Royal Oak Petsmart (27942 Woodward). If you are interested in meeting him, please visit the store during volunteer hours, send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
